They. Serve. Slices.  I grew up in the Hudson Valley of New York, and this is the best NY style thin crust pizza in the Bay.  Right down to the amount of oil that drips down the center of the the slice after you fold it.  Yum. 

Owner's traces roots to Sada in Galicia, Spain and Ecuador, and he brings both traditions into the menu.  Can't beat a place where he's remaking and updating his fave childhood dishes from two great food cultures.

Effortlessly, unselfconsciously cool.  I travelled across the bridge to Luka's because SF does not have a restaraunt where black, white, latino, gay, straight, Raider fans and families (yes you read that right - kids with their parents) can hang out, listen to music, watch the game and have great food.  Imagine Monk's Kettle with 5x size, ample seating, and mixed crowd. 

With special summer sidewalk events like roasting a whole pig for the Ferragosta festival, Mariquita Farms mystery box dropoffs, Piccino embeds themselves in the Dogpatch community.  Nothing like a warm spring day, rosé, thin crust pizza, and seeing friends walk by.  Can't wait for the launch of the new coffee + resto + wine space.

Bar Bambino is a rare place where I feel at home whether I'm alone, on a date, with friends, with a group, late at night or midday lunch.  Christoper and Lizzie's passion and creativity is matched by their inviting warmth.  Love their focus on Tyrol and Fruili, which makes their wine & food pairings even more interesting.  Make sure to go to one of their special prix fixe dinner events.
