So this includes main, sides, salads, desserts, drinks etc. plus a description of the kind of night and other little details that are really great to read. Lovely author - lovely book.

Bonnie Stern is one of Canada's great cookbook writers. I have several of her cookbooks as she partnered with the Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation and published heart smart books filled with great recipes.
This particular cookbook has to be my favorite of hers. With several recipes that I continuously go back to, it is one of my most stained books (much to my husband's dismays). Recently, I shared this book with members of my cookbook club - it took forever for me to get it back home.
Well worth a try!

This cookbook will truly crack you up!!! It had my husband and I laughing to the point of tears! Pierre Lamielle has created, illustrated and written the best little stories to go with each recipe. I think he even won an award for this cookbook!
The borscht is fantastic! All the picky Ukrainians in my family (I am one of them) loved it. Highly recommended!

This cookbook is one of my most favorites. Written by a local Calgary food blogger, Julie provides recipes that are truly do-able with what you have at home, that are healthy choices, and overall great food. My family always raves when I cook something from Julie. Food on Sticks has to be one of my favorite chapters of all. Imagine - a whole chapter about food on sticks!!! How fun (and ridiculously easy) is that?

She's done a beautiful job of putting together pictures - it's a gorgeous book to look at and it really is chock full of recipes - many more than I expected. I went to her cookbook launch and taste-tested some recipes - favorites are the salad with dill and cucumber, the chocolate cake, and for sure the raspberry cream cheese muffins. It was a good eye-opener for me to see how many ways I could throw quinoa into my existing recipes as well as how to incorporate them into meals for the...
