I love this cookbook. The recipes are complex enough to be exciting yet they are engineered to be easy and fast. The coq au Riesling, Chorizo with scallops, Swedish poached salmon and new potato salad are all very popular with my teenage children. I don't find the recipes to be too heavy. Often the addition of cream is optional (i.e. the coq au riesling). I'm a huge fan of Nigella. I share her sensibility and philosophy regarding food so I tend to really like her books.
Edit your review | Add a comment | Share- Duck Legs ConfitTo salty, but otherwise very nice. If I made it again, I might reduce the amount of salt in the brine or perhaps not let it brine for quite so long. I thought it would be an economical solution to the price of confit from D'Artagnan or Hudson Valley which in the NYC area is a whopping $8 per leg, but by the time you buy all the duck fat you need to store them, it's not that much cheaper. Still, it was easy and fun to make these and they were very good.
