I really, really wanted to love this cookbook. Really. But I don't. The recipes just don't have enough 'oomph!' to 'em. I like my food to have a lot of flavor to it, and I just haven't found that to be the case in the dozen or so recipes I've tried from this cookbook. But that's just me, your mileage may vary. |

Just purchased this book on Amazon because of the above recommendations. I LOVE this site! Thanks! Can't wait to sit down with a cup of tea and devour this book, cover to cover! |

Oooh! I love this cookbook! I feel like I can just open it up and cook whatever recipe shows up and I'll have another favorite! I may have to buy a second copy as I am wearing this one out! |

This is a coffee table cook book! Beautiful! Simply lovely to look at. I read the review on 101 Cookbooks and bought the book first chance I got. Then I spent a rainy Saturday, wrapped in a blanket with a pot of tea and devoured it, cover to cover. It was so good to have validation that I am not a bad baker, but just an uninformed one. I had been substituting other flour for wheat straight across, with some very very bad results. I am looking forward to baking my way through it. |

Love this update! I've cooked my way throught the original Moosewood Cookbook, and was very happy with the results. To say I was NOT excited about a 'New' Moosewood would be an understatement. My original copy was in storage so I was 'forced' to purchase this edition if I wanted to cook my favorites again. I was expecting 'lite' as in no yum-factor, as Mollie had re-worked the recipes to reduce the fat. There are a few recipes that I still cook from the original Moosewood, as their translation just didn't work for me, but mostly, the extra fat and calories in this new Moosewood are not missed. So, this cookbook is on the shelf in my kitchen, not in the other room in my library. |

I love Mollie Katzen! I've been 'following' her since the first Moosewood cookbook. This book is beautiful - Mollie illustrates her own books - and the recipies are different and yummy! So often, when a cookbook author has many many books, the new ones are just recyling previous recipes. With Vegetable Heaven, I've yet to try a dud. My copy has those little post-it tabs sprouting out along the top and sides. To me, that's always a sign of a great cookbook! |

This cookbook changed the way I cook. I'm no longer 'afraid' to thoroughly brown/carmelize onions, to try all those strange dried mushrooms in those little plastc sacks, to cook with the seasons only using what I can find at the farmers' market. I've cooked my way through this book a couple of times and now I can face any vegetable, spice or grain straight on, with courage and enthusiasm! I cooked the Thanksgiving for Everyone menu for a houseful of carnivores. They were all dubious at best, some outright crabby about the lack of a turkey as the centerpiece of the meal. Let me just say that Thanksgiving is still being talked about, with raves and requests for recipes. Thank you Anna Thomas! |

I love Love Soup! Not only is it a great cookbook, it also has wonderful stories about how the recipes were developed. I devoured this book from cover to cover the first weekend I had it. I am now cooking my way through it, season by season. It also makes a great gift, especially if you include an immersion blender. I am considering buying a back-up copy, just in case I wear this one out! |
