I was flipping through this cookbook at a friend's place a few months ago and I was suprised how concise and beautiful all the recipes looked!
And I emphasize concise here - I'm now recommending this cookbook to all my friends who say they "can't" cook. A lot of these recipes have 5-6 ingredients and there are tons of vegetarians options.
This book was my bible when I was first living on my own and learning to cook. Jessica taught me to have a new relationship with food.
One lesson I keep with me, even though I never fully embraced macrobiotics, was that what you eat profoundly affects how you are and how you are feeling. When I'm feeling out of sorts, I combine whole grains with some vegetables and it always helps.
