I am using this massive book in the app form. I agree; it is a really good reference book as a starting point of adapting and tackling anything. Mark Bittman's fearlessness and straight forward approach will infect us all. As for the experience…it's quite different going through the tome via phone. [fyi: user interface is really good]. Great for grocery shopping and instant access, but i miss the flick of the pages, notations and ability to linger. Plus, my phone is taking a beating with the near miss drops and quick grabs with sticky fingers. I really support Mark Bittman's approach to changing how we eat: to eat well, to cook, to enjoy. I miss 'The Minimalist' but his NY Times column, the Opinionater, is a wonderful source of information and activism. |
