Another great book by the bold Jamie. He has a huge capacity to make simple food enticing. In this book he visits Spain, Sweden, France, Greece, Morocco and Italy. He meets with local people, gathers recipes and adds his own twist to most of them. He has a very irreverant way with food which make his recipes very accessible and encourages you to experiment. This is a great book for summer as the recipes are mostly from Mediterenean countries.

I love the title of this book and the idea behind it where Nigella thinks about different occasions for celebrations and creates recipes to go with them. As a vegetarian I am limited in it though as there are very few. She says herself that she has difficulty with vegeterian recipes. Having said this her vegetarian Cornbread Chilli is delicious. I have also made some of the cakes that are very good and my husband has cooked some of the meat dishes and I am reliabley informed that they are very good!
- Ottolenghi was my best find in the past 2 years - the food is so wholesome and spilling over with flavour. Amongst my favourites are the Portobella mushroooms stuffed with Barley and Feta, The Camergue and Quinoa Salad with orange and nuts and the muffins are just amazing. The recipe produces a very wet batter and it turns out really soft muffins. Wonderfull. There are recipes from the authors in the Guardian magazine every Saturday - so if you want to sample, start there. No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likes
- I totally agree, his latest book where he gives recipes for vegetables from his allotment, photos are beautifull and so far anything I have made has worked really well, particulalry his Chocolate Beetroot Cake - a great subject of conversation when you ask people what do they think makes the cake particularly moist. No likes Can’t Like Unlike Like No likes
